Bulk Sheet Wizard help

Installing, paying, cancelling and fixing. Everything that happens outside the add-on.

Need help with a specific button or action? That guide is built into the add-on: Extensions › Bulk Sheet Wizard › Help & Documentation

Getting started

Adding it to Google Sheets

Open the Bulk Sheet Wizard listing, click Install, and choose the Google account you use for Sheets. Installing is free and does not ask for a card.

Where to find it once it is installed

Open any spreadsheet and go to Extensions › Bulk Sheet Wizard › Open Sheet Wizard. The sidebar opens on the right. It stays there while you work, and you can close it any time with the X in its corner.

If the menu item is not there yet, jump to Common problems. Nine times out of ten the spreadsheet was already open when you installed and simply needs a refresh.

The permissions screen

The first time you open it, Google asks you to approve what the add-on can do. There are four permissions. Here is what each one is actually for.

See and edit this spreadsheet only

The narrow version of the permission. It works on the spreadsheet you have open and no other file in your Drive.

Display and run third-party web content

A scary name for a boring job. It draws the sidebar and the dialog boxes, which are the entire interface.

See your primary email address

This is how we know which subscription is yours.

Connect to an external service

Checks whether you have an active Premium subscription. It sends your email address to our own server, and nothing else.

You can remove all of this at any time at your Google account permissions page.

“Google hasn’t verified this app”

This screen is normal, and it goes away by itself.

It appears while an add-on is going through Google’s verification review, and it appears for every add-on sitting in that queue.

To continue: click Advanced, then Go to Bulk Sheet Wizard (unsafe), then Allow. The word “unsafe” is Google’s standard wording for “we have not finished checking this one yet”. It is not a warning about anything we have done.

Free and Premium

What the free version does

Free is not a crippled demo. It does the two jobs people need most:

  • Hide and unhide as many sheets as you like, in one action, with no limit on how many
  • Filter your sheet list by hidden, visible, protected or coloured, so you can find the ones you want
  • Protect or unprotect one sheet at a time

What Premium adds

  • Bulk delete, rename, prefix, suffix, colour, duplicate, move, sort, merge, clear data, set view only and change text case, across as many sheets as you select
  • Protect or unprotect many sheets at once instead of one
  • Undo and redo, with a full history of what you changed
  • The 3D Visual Sheet Map, which draws your whole workbook so you can see its shape
  • Performance metrics

What it costs

A$4.99 a month, or A$29.99 a year. The yearly price works out at about A$2.50 a month, so if you already know you want it, take the year.

Every subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. Nothing is charged until day 8, and you can cancel during the trial and pay nothing.

Upgrading

Use the same email address you use in Google Sheets.

At checkout, enter the same email address as the Google account you use in Sheets. That address is how we match your payment to your add-on.

If you pay with a personal address and use Sheets with a work one, the add-on will keep showing the free version, and your money will be sitting against an account that never opens a spreadsheet.

Already done it? Do not buy a second subscription. Contact us and we will move it across.

What happens after you pay

You are sent to a thank-you page, Stripe emails you a receipt, and Premium unlocks in the add-on.

“I paid but the add-on still says Free”

Almost always one of two things.

It has not caught up yet. The add-on remembers your plan for a short while so it is not pestering our server on every click. After you upgrade, that memory can take up to 30 minutes to expire. Reloading the spreadsheet will not speed it up, because the memory sits on Google’s side rather than in your browser. Make a cup of tea and come back. If it still says Free after 30 minutes, it is not this.

The email addresses do not match. See the box above. This is the likelier cause once it has been more than half an hour. Contact us with the address you paid with and we will fix it.

Your subscription

The free trial

Seven days, and nothing is charged until day 8. You get the full Premium feature set during the trial, not a sample of it. Cancel before day 8 and you pay nothing at all.

Managing or cancelling

Use the billing portal below. Enter the email address you paid with, and Stripe will email you a secure link. From there you can cancel, update your card, or download your invoices, without waiting on us.

Open the billing portal

Stripe handles our billing, and the portal may show a different business name on the way in. That is still us.

If the portal cannot find your email address, it is usually because you paid with a different one. Contact us and we will sort it out.

Cancelling stops all future payments. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for, so if you cancel on day 3 of a month you have paid for, you keep it for the rest of that month.

Changing your card

Same billing portal. We never see or store your card details, and please do not email them to us.

Refunds

Changed your mind? The 7-day free trial is there so you can decide before you pay anything, so we do not refund simply because you changed your mind afterwards. You can cancel at any time to stop future charges, and you keep Premium until the period you have already paid for runs out.

Something actually wrong? That is a different thing entirely.

Nothing on this page affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If Premium is faulty, is not as described, or does not do what we said it would, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. Tell us what happened and we will put it right.

Your data

Only the sheet you have open

Not your Drive, not your other files. That is built into the permission it asks for, so it is not a promise, it is a limit.

Your contents never leave

No cell values, no sheet names, no file names, no file IDs go anywhere. The only thing sent is your email address, only to our own server, only to check your subscription.

Nothing is sold

No third-party trackers, no advertising networks, no data brokers.

What we store

Your email address and your subscription status. Payment details are held by Stripe, not by us.

Full detail is in our privacy policy.

Common problems

The add-on is not in my Extensions menu

Close the spreadsheet tab and open it again. Google only builds the Extensions menu when a spreadsheet loads, so anything installed while a sheet was already open will not appear until the next load.

Still missing? Check you are signed into the same Google account you installed it with. See the next section.

I am signed into more than one Google account

This is the most common cause of odd behaviour, and it is Google’s doing rather than ours.

When you are signed into several accounts at once, Chrome numbers them in the address bar as /u/0/, /u/1/ and so on. An add-on installed on /u/0/ will not appear when you are working in /u/1/. It is not lost. You are in a different account.

Quickest test: open the spreadsheet in an incognito window, sign into one account only, and see whether it behaves. If it does, you have found your answer.

The sidebar is blank, or the spinner never stops

Close the sidebar and reopen it from Extensions › Bulk Sheet Wizard › Open Sheet Wizard. If that does not do it, reload the spreadsheet. Still stuck? Try an incognito window with one Google account signed in, which rules out a browser extension getting in the way.

My work or school account will not let me install it

Google Workspace administrators can block add-ons across a whole organisation. If you see a message about your administrator, or the install button does nothing at all, you will need to ask your IT team to allow it. We cannot override that from our end, which is rather the point of the setting.

The action only worked on some of my sheets

Check what you had selected. The sidebar acts on the sheets you have ticked, not the sheet you happen to be looking at. Check your filter too, because if you have filtered to hidden sheets only, that is what it will act on.

On the free version, remember that protect and unprotect work on one sheet at a time. Bulk protection is a Premium feature.

I want to undo something

Undo and redo, with the full history of what you have changed, are Premium features. On the free version, Google’s own undo (Ctrl+Z, or Cmd+Z on a Mac) will usually reverse the last action if you use it straight away.

Help with a specific feature

This page covers the things that happen outside the add-on. For how a particular action works, what each button does, the keyboard shortcuts and the tips, open the built-in guide:

Extensions › Bulk Sheet Wizard › Help & Documentation

It has sections on getting started, the interface, every available action, keyboard shortcuts, Premium features, tips and troubleshooting.
